When Esperanto isn't enough.

If you're one of those people who have, since birth, obsessed over the structure of your native language and other languages; if you habitually find yourself thinking, "Why isn't there a better way to express this idea?"; if you revel in inventing words for things there are no names for and grammatical forms not found in any textbook; if you see language as not just a tool but an artistic medium in itself; in short, if the idea of creating an entire language fills you with ecstatic delight; then conlangs is for you.

If you're not, you will probably think the whole idea is rather stupid.

Greenberg Event

The Steven Greenberg talk was great. I expected it to be good, but it really exceeded all expectations. I've got to assemble my notes, but I will write a full post on it soon.
