Scripture: Genesis.
2024-10-23 09:36This is the week in which the festival of Sukkoth ends with the holiday of Simchath Torah. Last year there was not much simcha on this holiday, but G-d willing this year will be better.
And it's on the Sabbath at the end of this week that we begin the annual Torah cycle afresh. I've always been fascinated by the creation story in Genesis, and it sometimes feels as though the Creation gets short shrift in the weekly and daily Torah readings, crowded out by the holidays.
In any case, I've written and posted some of my informal thoughts on the book of Genesis (disclaimer: IANAR), and am currently in the process of collecting and editing same into what I hope will be a semi-coherent post or series of posts. [130]
