You refer to the “Jan. 6 protests.” Isn’t “protests” a euphemism?

“Ma’am, I’m sorry for your unfortunate situation, but if your daughter hadn’t stormed the Capitol, she wouldn’t have been shot.” That seems to me to be right, and I would add that the Capitol Police officers who were assaulted and in some cases seriously hurt by the insurrectionists have first claim on my sympathies. As to “political prisoners,” come now; that honorable term should be reserved for those whose only crime was their political opinions, or their insistence on speaking the truth when the powers that be demanded falsehood.
