From my beloved Life Science Library (from Time-Life Books), which was a mainstay of my bookshelf as a kid and which I rescued from the basement after Mom passed away. A little the worse for water damage, but nonetheless still intact, the set is now on the bookshelf in my bedroom next to the writing desk that holds my Apple G5. From the volume on "Matter", here's the Periodic Table:

Ain't it pretty? I'm working on memorizing the names of the elements in order ("... Scandium, Titanium, Vanadium, Chromium, Manganese, Iron, Cobalt, Nickel, Copper, Zinc ...") and by chemical groups ("Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Cesium, Francium; Beryllium, Magnesium ..."). The book also has a wonderful photo-essay listing the elements according to their groups and describing each one.

"Matter", like the rest of the set, harks back to the 1960s and is somewhat dated, but it's still a great resource and lots of fun - even in this age of semiconductors (which are made of things like Gallium, Germanium, Arsenic, Selenium) ...
