Getting ready to start work in about an hour. I'm working the early shift now, 06:00 to 15:00, which agrees with me. I'm an early bird by nature and I find I'm more alert and focused in the morning. When work is done, I've got the rest of the day to do as I please.

I've been at the job since mid-February and working from home since mid-March. The pay is less than I was looking for, but at this point I'm content to stick with it at least until the one-year mark when I can see what they offer by way of a raise. I'm not unhappy with the job itself, and I like the team I work (remotely) with.

A couple of weekends ago I attended the biennial organizational meeting of the Washington County (Oregon) Republican Party, and our outgoing county chair mentioned that she's on NextDoor.com and encouraged others to use it. I took her advice and I'm enjoying this tool for connecting with nearby neighbors.

Also I've been getting active on Flickr again after a long hiatus. Mostly I'm just posting selfies and snapshots - not ambitious, artistic, "explore" quality photographs - but I like having the creative outlet. It could also be a good tool for social networking.
