In the spirit of the season, I'll start with the Airing of Grievances. My new roommate is already my ex-roommate. Good riddance to him. He no-showed on the weekend he was supposed to move in and kept me waiting for a week, not answering calls or texts. He called me the next weekend to announce that he was moving in (with two hours' notice) and finally paid me, two weeks late. He never finished his office paperwork, and a week later he told me he wasn't going to be moving in after all. So, back to square 1. I've got a couple of prospective roommates lined up for in-person meetings next week.

On a more positive note, the conservative group that's been my baby for the last half-year has been thriving, and one result is that I've been asked to take a more active role in community outreach for this county's chapter of the Republican Party. More on this, I hope, soon.

I almost went to work today and discovered that I'd missed the memo about my employer being closed today. I signed in to my workstation and was about to clock in on my timesheet, when I noticed today was marked as paid PTO. Looked for my colleagues online and there was, literally, not even a mouse (or a keyboard) stirring. So I took the hint and enjoyed the Festivus holiday properly.

I hope the no-show non-roommate paid for at least a month, since that's set you back on getting the space filled.
