The job search continues apace. I spent a good chunk of yesterday and this morning - probably several hours in total - going through my contact lists, deleting duplicate and out-of-date contacts and tidying up the current ones. It was tedious work, yet strangely absorbing and satisfying. The immediate practical benefit is that it's now much easier to renew contact with recruiters I've worked with in the past.

I've become a great believer in the joy of spreadsheets for personal goals. I've got a spreadsheet for my health, a spreadsheet for my ledger, spreadsheets for my reading and writing - and, most importantly at the moment, a spreadsheet to keep track of my job search. I have columns for Date, Job Title, Employer, Agency, Recruiter, Job Number, RTR, and so on. This makes it easy to keep track of which jobs I've already applied for.

Party meeting is tonight. I've been helping to organize our call / volunteer list, an activity that partly overlapped with my time invested in organizing my personal contacts. Having up-to-date connections just makes life easier. [180]
